Program Outcomes
Associate in Fire Command and Administration

Students will:
A. Utilize fire service leadership techniques to regulate personnel management, control discipline, train staff, perform strategic planning, organize fireground operations, and coordinate emergency or non- emergency activities.
B. Apply effective interpersonal communication, critical thinking and decision-making skills commensurate with a defined level of responsibility.
C. Utilize fire service management techniques in the development of policies, procedures and protocols, budgets, contract negotiations and information management in day-to-day operations.
D. Apply principles of strategy and tactics to managing fireground operations.
E. Demonstrate the ability to function independently and as part of an effective management team as appropriate in all situations.
F. Identify and utilize fire and emergency services health, safety and risk management principles.
G. Utilize the principles and practices involved with planning, preventing and managing terrorist and natural disasters.
H. Interpret ethical and legal issues that impact fire service.
I. Apply a solid foundation of knowledge and skills to assume leadership roles in fire service command and administrative duties.
