Course DescriptionProvides students involved in the creative/performance aspect of a Pierce College theatre/film production with credit for their effort. The class offers flexibility for students to participate in several different areas of a Pierce College theatre/film production.
A. Theater and/or Digital Film Production B. Team Development C. Intercultural Communication D. Time/cost/space management E. One or more of the following specialized areas: 1. Acting 2. Directing 3. House management 4. Stage management 5. Film editing 6. Sound 7. Lighting 8. Design and multimedia 9. Exterior and interior art direction and construction 10. Stage Sets 11. Props 12. Publicity 13. Costume and set decoration 14. Makeup 15. Hair dressing
1. Collaborate with a creative team to implement a production schedule. 2. Demonstrate practical application of expertise in specialized areas in order to stage a theatre/digital film production. 3. Research, analyze, and apply the various concepts of theatre/digital film production as assigned by the director and technical director. 4. Operate as a team member to dismantle the set and clean up after a final production. 5. Evaluate the success of a theatre/digital film production. 6. Demonstrate open-mindedness, curiosity, and respect for other countries, cultures, and genders. 7. Complete tasks with the time, space, and budget allowed. 8. Demonstrate effective listening skills. 9. Coordinate with a work team to efficiently complete tasks assigned by a director or technical designer.
Humanities: Graduates acquire skills to critically interpret, analyze and evaluate forms of human expression, and create and perform as an expression of the human experience. Effective Communication: Graduates will be able to exchange messages in a variety of contexts using multiple methods.
